Overview

This Real Inner Jungle trip is perfect for those who truly love nature and want a real back to basic adventure. On this journey, you will trek under the rainforest canopy, cross rivers, sleep in a cave and at an observation hide, and visit the Orang Asli village.

Meet your nature guide at our counter in Kuala Tahan. Collect your camping gear, food, and drinking water. Fill in a declaration form to submit to the Wildlife Office. The trip starts once the Ranger gives approval.

Travel by boat to Kuala Keniam, which takes about one and a half hours. From there, trek eight kilometers to Kepayang Cave. Set up your sleeping area, wash, cook, and have dinner. In the morning, continue trekking eight kilometers to Kuala Terenggan. Then take a boat to the Orang Asli village. Wash up and get ready for dinner. Spend the night in a wooden hut at the village. After breakfast the next morning, learn how the Orang Asli make fire and use the blowpipe for hunting. Then return to Kuala Tahan.

Itinerary

Day 1 :

9.15 am Meet at the site office in Kuala Tahan
Note: Bring a hiking or trekking bag (45L or bigger)
Meet your nature guide
Get your food and drinking water
Collect your packed lunch
Fill in a declaration form for items you bring into the jungle
Inspection by the ranger at the Wildlife Office
Boat ride from Kuala Tahan to Kuala Sungai Keniam (about 1.5 hours)
Optional stop at the Canopy Walkway (ticket at your own cost RM5 per person)
Start trekking from Kuala Keniam to Gua Kepayang Besar, about 8.6 km, taking 5 to 6 hours
Enjoy your packed lunch along the way
Around 6.00 pm reach Gua Kepayang Besar Cave
Set up your sleeping area, wash at the river
Collect wood for the campfire and cook with your guide
Dinner by candlelight
Relax and rest for the night

Day 2 :

7.30 am Breakfast in the jungle
9.00 am Trek from Gua Kepayang Besar to Kuala Terenggan, about 8 km, around 4 hours
Have a quick lunch on the way (instant noodles)
Boat ride from Kuala Terenggan to the Orang Asli village
Around 4.00 pm arrive at the village
Stay in a hut or set up a camp (for big groups)
Prepare and enjoy dinner

Day 3 :

7.30 am Breakfast in the jungle
9.00 am Watch a fire-making and blowpipe demonstration
Boat ride back to Kuala Tahan
Around 11.30 am arrive in Kuala Tahan

  • Surcharge RM100 perpax during 1 July – 31 August.
  • Surcharge RM200.00 per room per night is chargeable for solo traveler.(included)
  • Surcharge RM300 per room per night during 1 July – 31 August for AsiaCamp Resort & Local Village room | Type: Aircond Room & Toilet Inside(excluded and need to pay one day before arrival)
  • Surcharge RM1,000 per room per night during 1 July – 31 August for Mutiara Resort(excluded and need to pay one day before arrival)
  • Canopy walkway is close on Friday.
  • For order less than 48 hours, booking is subjected to Tourist guide and room availability. We will discuss any change with you on how we can make your tour success if change need to be made. Any refund is subjected to 10% management cost as last option of your booking.

Useful Travel Tips :

To cope with humid weather, prioritize staying cool and hydrated, choose breathable clothing, and adjust your activities to avoid overheating!
