A via ferrata also known as iron road in Italian is a protected mountain path fixed with rungs rails cables and small bridges along a rock face. It makes it possible for regular people to reach scenic and high parts of the mountains that before could only be reached by trained climbers or mountaineers.
This activity offers a mix of adventure and stunning views. You will feel a strong sense of achievement when you reach each point and look back at the distance you have covered. Many people remember this unique journey for years as it gives a special mix of challenge and joy.
Today there are more than three hundred via ferrata routes around the world. Most of them are in Europe such as Italy Germany France Austria Slovenia Switzerland and Spain. There are also a few in the United States and Canada.
The highest via ferrata in the world is on Mount Kinabalu in Malaysian Borneo. This route is known as Mountain Torq and it is also the first via ferrata in Asia. It offers a rare chance to enjoy high mountain views in a safe and guided way. This makes it a special activity for those who love both nature and adventure without needing to be an expert climber.
