How to make a Booking?

Overview

This three-day journey begins with a scenic drive from Kota Kinabalu to Kundasang, passing villages and stunning Crocker Range valleys, with a stop at Nabalu for local fruits and crafts. Guests stay at Kinabalu Pine Resort to rest and enjoy the cool mountain air. The second day starts with breakfast before moving to Kinabalu Park for registration and transfer to Timpohon Gate to begin the climb. Trekkers ascend through various forest zones to reach Pendant Hut, where they join a Via Ferrata familiarization session and stay overnight. On the final day, an early morning climb leads to Low’s Peak for sunrise, followed by a Walk the Torq via ferrata experience. After breakfast at Pendant Hut, guests descend to Timpohon Gate, collect their achievement certificate at Park HQ, enjoy lunch, and return to Kota Kinabalu, completing an unforgettable mountain adventure.

Itinerary

Day 1 :

Kota Kinabalu / Kundasang / Resort

12:30 pm — Pickup at hotel lobby or airport for departure.
Begin a two-hour drive to Kundasang through Crocker Range valleys.
Pass local villages and enjoy beautiful mountain and valley scenery.
Stop at Nabalu for fruits, vegetables, and handmade souvenirs.
3:00 pm — Check into Kinabalu Pine Resort or a similar option.
Free leisure time to rest and explore around the resort area.
7:30 pm — Dinner at resort restaurant, then overnight stay at resort.

Day 2 :

Park HQ / Timpohon Gate / Ascend Mount Kinabalu / Pendant Hut

7:30 am — Wake up for breakfast, pack up, and check out.
Pickup from resort and transfer to Kinabalu Park Headquarters.
Collect packed lunch before heading to mountain registration counter.
Guide arranges registration, mountain guide assignment, and ID tag preparation.
Wear your ID tag at all times during the climb.
Transfer to Timpohon Gate, official start point for Mount Kinabalu.
Begin ascent towards summit, estimated climb time four to five hours.
Pass oak, chestnut, mossy, and alpine vegetation zones during trek.
3:00 pm — Arrive at Pendant Hut at 3,289 meters elevation.
3:30 pm — Attend mandatory Via Ferrata familiarization session in hut.
Meet Mountain Torq trainer for basic via ferrata introduction.
6:00 pm — Buffet dinner at Laban Rata Restaurant near Pendant Hut.
8:00 pm — Lights out and overnight at Pendant Hut.

Day 3 :

Low’s Peak / Walk the Torq / Descend Mount Kinabalu / Kota Kinabalu

1:30 am — Wake up for early supper and pack belongings.
2:30 am — Continue climb towards summit of Mount Kinabalu.
5:40 am — Reach Low’s Peak at 4,095 meters for sunrise.
6:00 am — Start descent from Low’s Peak to meet via ferrata trainer.
7:15 am — Meet trainer at Sayat Sayat Hut for Walk the Torq.
Experience introductory via ferrata route, French grade PD section.
9:30 am — Return to Pendant Hut for a late breakfast meal.
11:00 am — Check out from Pendant Hut and prepare to descend.
Descend to Timpohon Gate, estimated arrival between 4:00 and 6:00 pm.
Transfer to Park Headquarters to collect your achievement certificate.
Lunch served at Kinabalu Park after climb and certificate collection.
Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu city, journey takes about two hours.

  • For order less than 48 hours, booking is subjected to Tourist guide and room availability. We will discuss any change with you on how we can make your tour success if change need to be made. Any refund is subjected to 10% management cost as last option of your booking.

Useful Travel Tips :

In a cool subtropical highland climate, it's best to dress in layers to adapt to varying temperatures throughout the day and potential rain. Pack a light jacket or sweater, long-sleeved shirts, and a waterproof jacket or umbrella. Don't forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and comfortable walking shoes.
